Shikoto Rurousha Handmade Katana/Samurai Sword - Hand Forged Damascus Steel

The United Black collection introduces a fully functional and high-quality sword to the series with the Rurousha (Japanese for nomad) katana. This katana exemplifies the traditional design as both a tool of war and a work of art. Measuring 41 1/4" overall, it features a hand-forged 29 7/8" blade of 1060 Damascus steel with a heavy double blood groove pattern. The blade's tang bears an exclusive stamp, a hallmark found only on United Black sword blades.

The hardwood handle is wrapped in a wide leather grip, creating a classic look and feel. The cast metal guard offers a simple, coordinating design that complements the pommel. The hardwood sheath is adorned with a leather wrap similar to that of the handle, and the sword comes packaged in a traditional cloth sword bag with a collectible hanging medallion and a custom box.

Bound in rustic genuine leather, the Rurousha katana is unbound by convention, boasting a distinctive style that sets it apart. The full-tang 30" Damascus steel blade is accentuated with twin fullers and engraved kanji, expertly hand-forged by seasoned swordsmiths using centuries-old techniques.

The blade's intricate pattern is the result of thousands of distinct layers of high-carbon steel, showcasing a mesmerizing display of contrasting lines, waves, ripples, and swirls. The tsuka, or handle, is wrapped in genuine leather thongs, offering a unique visual appeal and a comfortable, no-slip grip. The flawlessly cast tsuba, or guard, features a clean, contemporary design.

The hand-lacquered wooden saya, or sheath, protects the blade and features a handsome mottled color scheme, as well as a genuine leather wrapping. This exceptional katana is a testament to the United Black collection's commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and a unique, non-conformist aesthetic.
